Illinois Land Records & Deeds Search

Deeds and other document recording are managed by the County Clerk in each county. Some counties with larger clerk offices have a separate office, generally called the Recorder or Registrar of Deeds. Recorded documents include deeds, mortgage documents, easements, powers of attorney, marriage licenses, and liens. A few counties provide online access to recorded documents. Some online access sites require registration and the payment of a fee. Recorded documents can also be obtained by contacting the County Clerk in person, by mail, or by phone.
